This is an image of the village site of Namu where the Simon Fraser University Archeology department excavated remains of Heiltsuk ancestors in the 1970s and 80s. I was privileged to be a part of the repatriation of the remains.

These are some of the people getting ready to bury the remains. Out of respect to the Heiltsuk people, no photos were taken during the ceremony.

As there were around 60 boxes, painting each box would have been a huge job, so I screen printed the outline for Larry's design on each box. After that, students and community members used acrylic paint to fill in the coloured areas by hand.
