If I am really lucky, I make my way up to Koeye camp, in the Heiltsuk Territory. Koeye is located in the heart of the so-called Great Bear Rainforest--and to be fair, there are many grizzlies up there, who wander into camp on a pretty much daily basis.
This year, on my three week stay, as well as spending a good amount of time painting, I had the pleasure of working with the Heiltsuk youth, as well as a group of adults from Raincoast, an environmental group, teaching printmaking.
This little painting was the veiw across Koeye inlet, little before sunset in July.
